Reconcile knows that Users value their privacy. User privacy is important to Reconcile, too. This is why Reconcile has developed a Privacy Policy that covers how Reconcile collects, uses, discloses, transfers, and stores User information. Please take a moment to read this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”).

Each time Users use the Website, the current version of this Policy applies. Policy changes will be reflected on this page. Since Users are required to accept all changes to this Policy in the Terms, Reconcile encourages Users to regularly check the date of this Policy and review any changes made since the last time the Website was accessed or used.

Reconcile uses the data collected from Users in a variety of ways

Although Reconcile may use Sser information in any way not specifically limited by the Terms and this Policy, it is useful to understand how Reconcile typically use the information collected from Users, such as:

  • To improve the Website;
  • To personalize User experience;
  • To process transactions and donations;
  • To facilitate contests and surveys, when applicable; and
  • To provide newsletters, events, or services.

Reconcile may also disclose and transfer User personal information to any successors-in-interest in the event that Reconcile is acquired by, sold to, merged with, or transferred to a third party. Some or all User personal information provided to Reconcile could be amongst the assets transferred.

Users submit certain information automatically simply by viewing the Website

Reconcile’s servers automatically record certain information about how a User uses the Website (referred to here as “Log Data”). Log Data may include information such as a User’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, user agent, browser type, operating system, the web page that a User was visiting before accessing the website, the pages or features of the Website to which a User browsed and the time spent on those pages or features, search terms, the links on the Website that a User clicked on, and other statistics.

Reconcile uses Log Data for many reasons, including without limitation, administering the Website and analyzing (in house or through third parties) Log Data to improve, customize, and enhance the Website by expanding their features and functionality and tailoring them to Users’ needs and preferences. Reconcile may use a User’s Log Data and other information to generate aggregate, non-identifying information about how the Website is used and use such aggregated information to understand and improve the Website and to administer use of the Website.

The Website collects information that Users voluntarily provide through its registration forms, surveys, payment forms, and other forms on the Website.  

During use of the Website, for example a User signing up for a newsletter, Reconcile will collect certain information that can be used to identify or recognize the User, such as their name and email address. The Website contains forms that require Users to provide valid and accurate contact information (like the User’s name, email, and postal address).

Reconcile uses the information Users submit to fulfill User requests, provide Website functionality, improve Website quality, personalize User experience, display relevant advertising, provide customer support, message Users, backup Reconcile’s systems, allow for disaster recovery, and comply with legal obligations.

Information sent by User mobile devices

Reconcile collects certain information that User mobile devices send when a User uses the Website, like a device identifier, user settings, and the operating system of the User’s device, as well as information about the User’s use of the Website while using the mobile device. Reconcile may use this information to provide the Website and to improve and personalize the Website for Users.

Location information

Reconcile may collect and store information about Users’ location(s) when Users use the Website and take actions that use the location services made available through the device’s mobile operating system of Users. Reconcile may also use location information to improve and personalize the Website for Users.

External sites that the Website links to are not subject to this Policy

The Website contains links to other sites. Reconcile is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such external, third-party websites.

Limitations on data retention

Reconcile may keep User data as long as is permitted or required under the law to satisfy any of the authorized uses under this Policy. For example, Reconcile may use retained data to prevent, investigate, or identify possible wrongdoing in connection with the Website or to comply with legal obligations. Please note that information may exist in backup storage even after it has been removed from Reconcile’s active databases.

Reconcile does not collect personal information from children

The Website complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (“COPPA”) and is not intended for children under 18 years of age. The Website does not knowingly or intentionally collect any personally identifiable information from or market to individuals under the age of 18.

If a User becomes aware that a child has provided Reconcile with personal information without parental consent, please contact Reconcile through the Inquiry Form. If Reconcile becomes aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information without parental consent, Reconcile will take steps to remove such information.

The security of User information

Reconcile takes some administrative, physical, and electronic measures designed to protect the information collected from or about Users from accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss or unauthorized access, use, modification, interference, or disclosure. Please be aware, however, that no method of transmitting information over the Internet or storing information is completely secure. Accordingly, Reconcile cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information.

User choices

Reconcile offers Users choices regarding the collection, use, and sharing of User information and Reconcile will respect the choices Users make. Please note that if a User decides not to provide requested information that the User may not be able to access some or all of the features of the Website.

Notice to California Users

Under Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80, a User residing in the State of California has the right to request from Reconcile a list of all third parties to which Reconcile has disclosed personal information during the preceding year for direct marketing purposes.
